Household Inventory

Having a household content inventory list is essential in the event of a claim. Here are some tips on how to get started and organized in regards to a household inventory check list.

1) Buy a fire proof box to store information gathered.

2) Purchase dividers and create headings such as: electronics, furniture, etc.

3) When an item is purchased, keep the receipt and warranty card. Place both items in the appropriate divider. You have just updated your household contents as well as created a place to find your warranty information.

4) Take photos of items and write the serial numbers on the back of the pictures.

5) Take photos/video of the various rooms in the house. This will help jog your memory in the event of a loss.

Be sure to put photos and/or video in the fire proof box. These simple steps will put you on your way to creating a household inventory list.
